Park play!

So today Tiffany introduced us to a new park in the area she referred to it as " The Pit" it most likely got the nick name from the fact that the play area is surrounded by hills creating a "pit" like appearance. For those of you who have not been introduced to this park its really a great place they just have all kinds of toys all over the park like little cars and stuff, as you can see in the pictures, this is in addition to the swings and sandbox and other traditional playground equipment. It was a lot of fun and Madison got to practice her walking too, no she is not actually walking yet but it sure looks like it in this video.

Florida

Some say its brave, some say its crazy, I say it was wonderful!

I went down to Florida to visit Phil's parents and brother this past week and weekend. It was just Madison and I, phil had to work. I know some of you are reading this thinking "you could not pay me to go spend time with my in- laws alone", well we did and it was wonderful! It gave me a lot of opportunity to get to know them and talk to them one on one, something you really don't get to do when you visit during the holidays! Thank you Grammy and Chief Pappy for having us down it was great to see you guys!I attended a Real estate seminar with my father in law while Grammy got to watch Madison all day, I'm not sure who enjoyed their day more Grammy or Madison. Madison got the ultimate Grandma treatment!

These are from the car ride to the airport and at the airport. Madison has started letting go of things while she is standing and she just stands there for a few seconds hands free, I am worried she is going to be walking before she is even one. AHHHH! She is also quite the little monkey there was a set of stairs up to the slide at the airport play ground and she just crawled right over to them and up, scared the .... out of me!

Mt Vernon!

We finally made it, for real this time too, like we actually went in and walked around. For those of you reading this not from the area who are also not history buffs, Mt. Vernon is George Washington's estate. It is a huge piece of land that houses his Mansion as well as a number of gardens his burial place, farm, and they even have their own harbor (at least thats what they called it). We made the trip with Remely and Brian the couple that I nanny for. It was a long day but also fun to finally get to do it. The main attraction is of course the Mansion and having gone on a Saturday this happened to have about an hour wait to walk through it, so we decided to fore go the Mansion with the intention of returning, of course we all know that is probably not going to happen since it took us that long just to get there in the first place. For those planning on visiting this summer it may just be a place we return to.
