Swiming!

She thought she was really cool to climb up on the chair all by herself! look how proud of herself she is!

This was only the third time I have taken Madison to the pool and each time she takes at least 10 min to warm up to the idea of being in the water. Once she does she loves it but I think the cold water is what causes her uneasiness early on.
This was a great one dollar investment ( garage sale) it makes going to the pool much more relaxing!

This video was really funny to us! I hope no one thinks we are terrible because of it. Madison wanted to keep climbing out of the pool she thought it was great to have the freedom to walk around. Thats fine a good with us when she has shoes on but she kept climbing out of the pool with no shoes. She would get about ten steps and the water would evaporate off her feet and she would realize just how stinking hot the cement was (it was really really hot!!) and then just stop dead in her tracks and start crying. I guess we thought it was funny cause she just kept doing it, you think they would learn, right?

We made it a whole year!

I wonder sometimes what we have done with this year but I guess its too late to worry about that now. I do have to say its been fun and full of lots of new experiences. The first year of my first child has been one full of joy and love and lots of diapers...

A year is one of those mile stones that makes you stop and think and I have been thinking about how much I love being a mother, a few things that I Love about being a mother...

Watching Phil play, read, and even sing to his daughter.

Being able to see her excitement when I come into the room.

I love being there to watch her grow and develop her skills, its truly amazing to be able to visibly see them learning.

I love being the comforter for a hurt toe or a bad night.

I don't really know how to explain this but I love that she loves to be with me. She is so fun.

There are so many more, you get the picture. Of course there are all the things I don't like as much but Ill keep those to myself, if you have kids you know what they are, and if you don't I don't want to spoil it for you!!

While its not all roses (i never thought it would be) I would not trade it for the world, she brings so much joy and fun and laughter into our home. She is a blessing that I know I don't deserve but am grateful I have.

Happy Birthday Madison.

Some fun videos

This fist one just show a little of their interaction but mostly Madison's current obsession with opening and closing doors.

ths one I shows how cute these two are together, they also show you a bit of their more aggressive sides at the end but, they are a lot of fun.

Messy Business

We have started to let Madison feed herself every so often and I thought I would share some of the results.

I like this video because you can see just how excited she gets when we let her do it herself, she still doesn't know which end of the spoon to use but she still manages to get some of it in her mouth. You will also notice that Phil is feeding her too just to be sure she actually gets some nutritional value out of the experience.

Birthday

I know I am a little slow but I had to share a little about my birthday so I can brag about my wonderful husband!
He was kind enough to get up early and carry on my families tradition and bring me breakfast in bed!But also left a variety of birthday wishes scattered about the house, in some rather clever places with some very creative phrases too! The one that I had a hard time figuring out was the " I love and a picture of a sheep." if you get it, your smarter than me, I had to ask!On top of all that sweetness he also took me clothes shopping for my present. It was a great time for me, however I am not sure he will be so quick to volunteer for that one anytime soon!

Thank you Phil for a great birthday!
