Now that we have recovered and resumed a normal schedule since the snow storms I have been trying to get out of the house at least once a day. Not always an easy task with three little ones during the day. Last week Monday being a Holiday I only had Madison and Samanatha so I thought I would venture a bit further than normal and I took them to the Natural History Museum. It was really fun to watch Madison enjoy herself so much it was all so exciting we stayed out well passed her nap time and she was still in a great mood.
You gotta love DC for all the free stuff to do! The best part is right now the crowds aren't bad since its still winter!Madison and the Capitol and all that snow. I had to bribe her with a fruit snack to get her to stand there for this picture, hence the half enthusiastic smile.
Just thought this one was cute. Of course right after I took this one she promptly told me to stop taking her picture. I guess this is just a small glimpse of things to come in the teenage years.
Phil started calling Madison squirt right after she was born and still does, once Samantha came along he began referring to her as squirt also, this became rather confusing so he has since been searching for a new nickname, the one that has stuck so far is Chubbers! We think its perfect for her huge cheeks and constant double chin. She is a great baby all in all she sleeps for 8 hours at night or at least she has for the last three weeks, hopefully it will stick! She just this week has started smiling and cooing which is just the best thing ever.
Other than kids our most recent project has been with our calling. Phil and I together are on the Stake primary board over cub scouting. This year is the 100th anniversary of Scouting so the Stake had a combined Blue and Gold dinner that we were in charge of organizing. With the help of the cub leaders and others the event came together nicely and it was a nice night for the boys and their families. In the end we learned a lot about planning and about each other and working together... some good some not so much, but it all worked out in the end. All I can say now is, I am glad its done!
