Madison's new room!

I have been on a major decorating kick since we got tv. Its fun but decorating cost money so I haven't really been able to do too much, it does force me to be creative which is a good thing.

This room was based all around the green shelf that I got in the IKEA as-is section for $2.00. The remaining items for decorations consist of dollar store baskets, frames and pinwheels, A pick nick table cloth, place mats, a cupboard door, ribbon, plastic dinner plates and post cards! It was fun to find all this bright colored stuff and I think it turned out pretty cute considering it was all done for under about $15!I like the pinwheels I think they are my favorite part!

This was a fun little project, I am not sure I am totally finished with it though...

Madison enjoying her new vinyl rug! Hey at least its spill proof right?

If anyone has any additional tips for decorating on a budget or suggestions for the new room please do share!

Dads little trick!

I love this I think it so cute how much Madison likes this little trick. It might make me a bad mom that I am not more concerned about it. However he has been doing it with her since she was about 5 months old, so I really have no say in the matter at this point.

I love HGTV!!

We just treated ourselves to a new television recently, yes I gave in.. Now I am addicted to the home decorating channel, as much as I like it, it definitely has its downsides.

1. I watch it too much
2. I want to have a house (really really bad!)
3. I want to buy stuff to decorate that we don't have money for!
4. i watch it too much!

But It has its pros too!
1. My house gets free makeovers with the ideas I get!
2. I have great ideas for when I do have a house!
3. My Couch got a makeover!!!!

Its not amazing but for free I thought it was pretty good from what it used to look like and what I was working with! These are my old curtains from our last house. Its a good start to my home makeover.

I may just start jogging again!

I posted a little while ago how much I love discounts stores and free stuff, well my new love... Craigs list. If you have never looked at the site I highly recommend it! Recently I found they have a "free" link which consists of people in your area listing things they just want to get rid of if you are willing to go and pick it up. YAY for free stuff! Anyways I have been wanting a double jogging stroller for a while so I can start running during the day with both the girls. I found one and went and bought it today, I am so excited to use it.

The only down side is the stroller is to wide for my front door when it is not folded. I didn't know this until I got home with it today, I put my keys down inside to try and bring the stroller in and the door closed and LOCKED behind me!!! Thank goodness my neighbor came to my rescue, he climbed onto our BALCONY, went through the balcony door and opened the front door from the inside! YaY for nice Neighbors!

YaY for Presidents!

I just want to start by saying YAY for long weekends! I love all the extra time I get to spend with my wonderful husband! We tried, and I emphasize tried, to go to Mt Vernon yesterday being as it was free, however we decided as we drove up that was a very bad idea and that everyone else had the same bad idea! So yes it may have been free but we went bowling instead!!! We have to give ourselves some credit we have talked about going to Mt Vernon since we moved here and that was the closest we ever got...maybe next time!

This is Madison's new trick!
This is the result of her new trick!
This is not a very good picture, and this is only the first bruise she got she has since had about 4 and a new one almost everyday as she attempts to stand up on stuff or move along something and falls flat on her face, poor girl!

Valentines Day!

I was trying to get a cute valentines day picture to post but she wasn't cooperating! I figured I would just share the whole series because it was pretty funny in its self.

Madison just discovered she can reach the mobile while sitting up in her crib... This is how I know!

She was so proud of herself!

First tooth...teeth???

Marissa got her fist tooth about a month ago so I started to wonder where Madison's fist tooth was. I shouldn't have been SO eager, she is getting her first and her second tooth right now. Both of her bottom front teeth are coming in and you can tell the poor girl is in a lot of PAIN. She is very clingy and whines A LOT.

She is still a very good baby considering but she has not been herself for the last little while. I know it will pass soon but I think she may be getting more in the back too...YUCK!

Cute...

I love this picture, they were watching the baby einstine video here and Marissa got a hold of Madison they were sitting like this for a good five minutes it was super cute.

Marissa is getting really good at sitting up, it makes it fun because its easier for the two of them to interact. I am really lucky they are both such good babies.

Super Bowl!

We were able to get together with some friends for the Super bowl on Sunday. My favorite part was trying to keep the kids asleep with the boys cheering in the other room! The boys eventually resorted to shaking the baby rattles to demonstrate their excitement to avoid being shushed!!
(Issac, Jenice's son)
Watching and playing with the kids was a lot more exciting than the game... at least for the first three quarters!

Jenice and Katie were kind enough to make all of the food and host our little gathering! Great Food! Thanks girls!

Second Hand Shopping...

I am a huge fan of shopping, however I am also a fan of a budget and so very often those two things do not go hand in hand. This is why I am the Queen of Second hand shopping! I love D.I. and I have to admit a good portion of my wardrobe and accessories are from D.I. not that I am saying you can't tell but you gotta give me some credit its either D.I. or ONE new piece of clothing a year!!!
Bags are new love of mine and with Madison especially love these really big ones!

It was heartbreaking to leave Utah for this reason they have a D.I. in every city sometimes two!! So now I have resorted to the Salvation Army not quite the same but you can still find a gem every now and then! I thought I would share some of my latest finds just for fun!

I was very excited about this find, I am hoping it may help preserve a little of my sanity now that Madison is mobile!

Other favorite stores I love that I am not ashamed to admit are Ross- if you have time to look, Target- great Maternity, TJ Maxx -wonderful for house decorations, and Wal-mart- love it for the basics, plain colored shirts, etc. and they always have great prices on bras! A new found favorite is Fashoin Bug when they have great sales, but I love the shoes!!
